Other freshwater, brackish, or salt fish / Re: giant glass tetra care info« on: May 24, 2011, 03:30:47 pm »i know its very rare and i know they nee dto school and i plan on upgrading i am very experienced aswell my tanks are always very clean so theyd b fineI am not trying to be a wise ass or sound mean here, but having clean water isn't about expertise, that means you have a good filters. All I am trying to say is that these glass fish require perfect living conditions to match with what they live with in the wild. Ph of 6.0-7.1... it can't go any higher or they will die. Their almost like discus. They sometimes do better in brackish. 5

Steve, don't take offense to this, but the species you want is very rare and should be left to those with excellent experience. They require a big tank, need to school, they will grow to big for your 55, and should be kept in brackish.
